a dreaming soul

One of those days when my lazybones work up and you just wish someone can put the right words in your mouth... c'est vrai? c'est possible... toujours une rêveuse...

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

What Kind of Soul Are You?

munching on a blueberry muffin not only brought back the café moments at Pacific Coffee, it reminded me of my fondness and craving for sweet stuff as a child. caramel. toffees. candies.

I remember the tune that was playing while the credits were rolling for the movie, Paris, Je t'aime which left me staying in my seat till the very last of the song.

For those whom love listening to soundtracks, we never fail to play the tracks over and over again. It might be the eighth... or tenth time? How we never get sick of hearing the same tune... for that familar music replays the scenes in the movie that we wouldn't mind watching for the third or fourth time.

Nostalgia is a human habit and I do not deny I often fall victim to the latter.

a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time.

For movie-goers of Paris, Je t'aime, didn't we also yearn for some of Love Actually? And why do we watch The Notebook after A Walk to Remember even though we know they are about the same old cliché romance stories?

Why do we keep buying clothes of the same designs and colours? How many times did we repeat ourselves, telling something that happened in the past?

Out of the blue, I see life as a circle.

Why is the earth round?

Why do we keep bumping into decisions that we have avoided? Why are we walking in circles... going round and round.

Like circles, without an end. Like circles, repetition.

Life is a cycle... and a cycle of many things.

I haven't lost my sweet tooth but my crave for sugar is certainly not the same as before.

For every love comes hate and for every sweet comes bitter. I grew to appreciate a little of that once perceived poignant taste.

My favourite snack now? Dark chocolates! A little of each!

And isn't it in life, we often have this bitter-sweet relationship?

six of my quirky ways

I've been tagged! With credit to the birthday gal, Geraldine!

RULES: Each person who gets tagged needs to write a blog post of their own 6 idiosyncrasies as well as clearly state this rule.after stating your 6 weirdness you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names at the bottom of the entry. dont forget to leave a comment on their tagboards that says “you’re tagged!” and tell them to read your blog for information as to what it means.

(idiosyncrasy: a characteristic, habit, mannerism, or the like, that is peculiar to an individual)

alright I'm well-known for my idiosyncrasies so here it goes:

1. my friends told me that I like to walk around in circles when I'm talking... well, I guess that explains 'beat around the bush'? or that I must be a Chinese scholar in my past life! anyhow, I'm told I just can't keep still while talking... swaying sideways, back and forth, etc. You get it, I can't stop moving!

2. I don't smile at cameras! Pourquoi? Je ne sais
pas. I probably developed this symptom over time. I used to have big smiles on cameras as a kid. Now? not anymore. Perhaps only when I get to model for some toothpaste ad or else... wear my teeth gold? Not smiling is known to be a french thing... maybe that is why!

3. my hair never grow long! Or rather, I never grow my hair long enough... not beyond shoulder length. How many times have people asked me on this? I have no patience, that's all. The reason last time was b'cos the school doesn’t allow us to have our hair touching our collar. The longest length I had must be when I was only four. I used to wear long plaits down my waist... aeroplane ponytails and all! During fine dining training in school, my hair was barely a bun at all! I have the urge to have my hair cut whenever it curls up and gets messy at shoulder length!

4. That brings me to the next point, I never grow my nails! Same thing, I don’t like to see my dirt stuck under my nails so I always cut them before they grow long. My nails are always so short that you wonder if they don’t grow at all. That is b’cos I cut them fast! Pedicures? Manicures? Not for me. No nail polish too.

5. I forget things! I do suspect I have short-term memory lapse like Dory in Finding Nemo. I can forget which cup I was using the moment I put it down on the table after a sip. But don’t worry, I won’t forget people I know. Just that sometimes I can ask a question several times even that I do remember I’ve asked before, I just can’t remember your answer. My mind is like a sieve… perhaps that is selective memory.

6. you can’t shut me up! It’s something everyone know… my super talkative nature. If you have got something really important to say, you better pray that I had a sore throat or nothing can stop me from going on and on. I like to interrupt people in the middle of their sentences so poor people hardly get a chance to say anything. Having a conversation with me may seems like a battle for a chance to talk. I welcome you to get yourselves heard!

Now you’ve read enough, it’s time to hear the weird truth from another six weirdoes:

1. Liwei

2. Sijia

3. Weiling

4.Kewei

5. Huiyun

6. Trixy

on being bored

boredom, ennui, tedium

the feeling of being bored by something tedious

Category Tree:

www.wordreference.com

Boredom kills sanity. Even its definition sounds ironic, 'bored by something tedious'. If there is even something tedious in boredom, what could it be? Link boredom with idling. days without work, without study and worst of all, without purpose. Quote from the book, Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow by Jerome K. Jerome, 'it is impossible to enjoy idling thoroughly unless one has plenty of work to do. There is no fun in doing nothing when you have nothing to do. Wasting time is merely an occupation then, and a most exhausting one. Idleness, like kisses, to be sweet must be stolen.' Indeed, one would take most pleasure in idling in midst of a busy day, like a teabreak at work or tv time during studying. Yet when you have time of your hands like you have dust settling on your furniture, idling can well lose its meaning. The art of idling isn't easy to master when you aren't one who takes pleasure in little things like watching the clock ticking away? I don't really enjoy teabreaks at work but I do enjoy doing things when I am not supposed to... like snacking on chocolates when I am sick, or chatting away when I am supposed to be out to study. The human tendancy to idle is huge. Perhaps the day you found yourself idling is when you find a day is more than 24 hours.
