Life needs no persuasion

It was a dramatic way to begin with a new phase of life. A new chapter that promised spontaneity and life fulfillment... yet to be ruined by a splash of cold water. I found it so hard to tolerate any bit of indecisiveness and fickleness that are out to kill every single bit of enthusiasm and spontaneity that one has. It was just impossible.

I felt so breathless and fatigued by the need to push somebody else for wanting to do something. That push has better come from oneself for it is the only strength that will keep one going for the longest. I'm too tired to push, anything, anything at all as it was futile to do anything when there was an inertia to change.

The change has to come from within.

Life needs no persuasion, no influence and takes nothing and noone to convince itself. Life is an influence, a belief on its own. If there's any persuasion, it only comes from the heart and inner self.

So why get bothered by the rest of the world?

"If I was wrong in yielding to persuasion once, remember that it was to persuasion exerted on the side of safety, not of risk." - Jane Austen, Persuasion

Getting out of the dot

With the slightest thought, I came to realise that I have been concentrating on one single focal point all these time.

All my time, energy, passion and focus on only one thing.

Everything I care seems to revolve only around one single person - me. My life is accentuated with moi, moi et moi.

It's like I have been drawing or more like, pinning on this one single dot on this big piece of paper.

All these while, I only see that one single dot on a big blank piece of paper.

I haven't or didn't care to look what is beyond this dot.

And honestly, I am pretty much contented with my single dot. And I can live with it, staying contented.

I have been perfecting the round, keeping it in shape... forgetting that I can choose to let it go, and let it flow...

who knows what it might bring?

The big piece of paper might meant to be a colour palette... a big spread of different colours.

Some people couldn't care less and scribble it away... smudging and blotching the colours like a big mixing pot.

Perhaps that's how it's meant to be, life is a big mixing pot.

We need to get our hands dirty - be out there, try it all without giving a care if we are doing it right - to see what other colours life could bring. Get dirty with the red, blue, yellow.

Start scribbling away... and start living it up.

Life is more than just a dot.

chapter twenty three

It is the fiftieth day into the new year and that practically leaves us with another 315 days in the year.

The one-seventh of the year went past pretty quickly... with little time to think through what has happened for the past 49 days. The days swept past like how the previous years had gone by, fading by each count and recounted soley from the pictures we took.

Just before we end off the first quarter of the year, life started a new chapter for me... a new page in my life in number.

Chapter 23.

It was a big number. As we went past chapter twenty one, each page seems to arrive shortly after the previous. It will not be long before we hit chapter thirty. Do the page just gets shorter and shorter or have we ran out of things to write? Was it getting more boring to write or was it more exciting now that we couldn't wait to open the new chapter? I hope it's the latter.

As I was crossing the page from the previous, I wondered what was the chapter that I had just closed... chapter 22 was a quiet chapter of contentment, just like every story, with a climax and a resolution to it. As I welcome the new chapter with a big bang, I do hope it's going to be a big chapter - in every sense of the word, not just the number.

Chapter 23 is all about the big life and living it up.

Welcome to my big life...
